My research asks how architectural decisions can help intelligent systems remain adaptable, dependable, and sustainable. Further, how to leverage AI to architect software systems that are self-sustainable.

Based at the Software Engineering Research Center, IIIT Hyderabad, with an association to the Smart City Living Lab leadership team.

Architectural tactics, quality attributes, and adaptation strategies for reducing the environmental impact of software-intensive systems.

Engineering AI-enabled systems

Practices and design decisions for developing sustainable AI-enabled systems that integrate ML and/or generative-AI components.

Autonomous Software Engineering

AI-enabled Practices and techniques for autonomous architecting, code generaiton and Ops

Self-adaptive systems

Using AI techniques (in particular Agentic AI and RL) to help software respond to uncertainities.

Learning through architectural reasoning

I teach Autonomous Software Engineering, analysis of software systems and Agentic AI with an emphasis on reasoning about trade-offs, quality attributes, and the social and environmental consequences of technical decisions.

My supervision interests include SE4AI - Architecting Sustainable Agentic and Self-adaptive AI Systems, AI4SE - AI for Green Code Generation, AI for architecture knowledge Management and AI for Architectural Adaptation
